Fletcher Creek
Council allows camping free of charge at Fletcher Creek camping grounds off the Gregory Developmental Road, Charters Towers, subject to conditions.
To preserve the environment and amenity of the area, users of the camping grounds must abide by the following conditions:
No camping within eight (8) metres of any buildings, fixtures or other infrastructure.
Vehicles of any description are not permitted to be parked or operated in areas between the Creek Bank and Bollards.
The operation of unregistered vehicles in the camping ground is forbidden.
Rubbish must be deposited in receptacles provided or removed from the camping ground.
Wastewater must not be discharged in any area of the camping ground other than at the Approved Wastewater Discharge Facility located adjacent to the Public Amenities on this site. It is an offence to discharge wastewater on this or any other non-licensed lands. Further information can be obtained by contacting the Visitor Information Centre on phone 07 4761 5533.
Use of the camping ground by the public is restricted to authorised areas only. Due to the nature of the environment, potential for injuries exists and Council accepts no responsibility to any person for any damage to or loss of property or any injury caused, contributed or sustained by that person whether caused by others, concealed dangers or other cause whatsoever.
No dogs except on leash.
No firearms or archery.
No motorbikes.
No open fires.
Big Bend & Echo Hole

Ravenswood Reserve
This is no longer a FREE camping site.
All sites must be pre-booked online via www.visitcharterstowers.com.au/ravenswood-showgrounds. Please note: NO CASH ACCEPTED
Due to telecommunications not being reliable in the area, visitors to the Reserve should book their sites before arrival to avoid disappointment.
Rest Stops
Council services amenities buildings at various locations throughout its jurisdiction (Campaspe, Belyando, Mingela, Christmas Creek) for the convenience of the travelling public. These areas are rest stops only, and in most cases the maximum stay is 20 hours unless signed otherwise.
