National Trail
Walks
Description
Australia's National Trail is a 5,330 km self-reliant trekking route through Australian bush, wilderness and mountain areas, suitable for horse-riding, walking and mountain biking. Extended expeditions on the National Trail should not be taken lightly and require significant preparation, experience, fitness, equipment and backup.
Description
Section Two - Gunnawarra to Collinsville, will see you passing through vast remote cattle stations in the steps of our pioneers. This section follows lonely roads along the wide stock routes to the heritage town of Ravenswood, and the massive Burdekin Dam, then follows the rivers to Collinsville. Mostly easy flat travelling but extreme care should be taken in the wet season when most rivers flood and flash flooding is common and in dry conditions when feed and water may not be available.
